A New Direction for Opinion Media

Well, I’ve taken the plunge and started a new webcast.  You can either access it as a podcast or a videocast, whichever you prefer.

The intent of this project is to do what thousands of others have already done in some capacity or another: to deliver analysis and insight into what’s going on in the world.  I just want to do it better.

More than anything else I’m trying to establish a program that creates discussion and delivers opinions, that have actual substance.  We’ll talk about your life, our country and the world.  We’ll talk about business, current events, politics, religion...you name it.  Nothing will be off limits.

My motivation for this stems from a deep desire to create a program that that actually accomplishes something positive and helps people think for themselves, and creates something of value for all people of all political persuasions.  Too often, talk radio and cable news programs simply spoon feed people what they want to hear.  We are inundated with hosts who consistently divide us into two camps, where those who aren’t in your camp are maligned as being ignorant, racist, socialist or worse.

We’re not talking to each other any more.  We fail to take the time to have even a basic understanding of where someone else is coming from.  We talk about how angry we are in America right now, and we justify it by blaming someone else for our troubles.  One can only wonder how much of that anger would dissipate if we started listening to one another again and started working together.

There’s an old saying that says if you want to feed someone for a day, you catch them a fish.  If you want to feed them for life, then you teach them how to fish.  More than anything, I hope this program helps people learn to think for themselves, learn how to be their own individual and gives them tools that empower them.

I hope you’ll take the opportunity to subscribe to our webcasts, participate and tell others about them.  More importantly, I hope that you’ll find something of value that adds something to your day.
